The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) is the corporate arm of Ermineskin Cree Nation based on the fundamental principles of achieving self-sufficiency and sustainability through long-term investments and business development. It is comprised of a growing group of companies including Ermineskin Tribal Enterprises Limited, and Commercial Operations including Neyaskweyahk Gas Bar & Convenience Store, Neyaskweyahk Taco Time, Maskwacis Mall, Pemiciso Café, Pihtwahew Giftshop, Niwihcihaw
Acceptance Ltd., and Bear Paw Trading Post.

STATEMENT OF OPPORTUNITY
NGCI is seeking an experienced Board of Director to carry our vision to be a “a leading and globally recognized corporation honoring Seven Generations governed by our Cree culture”. Together with the support of our CEO and fellow Board of Directors, you will assist in fulfilling NGCI’s mandate in achieving self-sufficiency and sustainability through long-term investments and business development.

We are looking for (1) Board of Director to succeed the incumbent directors, whose term will end in November of 2024. The successful candidates will be appointed to the NGCI Board of Directors by the Leaders of the Ermineskin Cree Nation, who are the sole shareholders of NGCI. The term of the new NGCI Board of Director is a minimum of three years.

Remuneration: Compensation includes a set honorarium as determined and approved by the board of directors for half and full day meetings. Out of pocket, travel, mileage, meals, and accommodation expenses are reimbursed or provided for by NGCI with original receipts submitted and claimed.

Time Commitment: A minimum of 4 Regular Board Meetings, 4 Advisory Meetings, and 8 Committee Meetings. The Board members are also expected to respond to email correspondence and have regular contact with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and to represent NGCI at various events and meetings with key stakeholders. The role requires an average time commitment of 20 – 30 hours per month, which may vary depending on activities.
