Maskwacis Mall Hires New Custodian

MASKWACIS, AB – The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) is pleased to welcome Miss. Raven Littlechild as the new Custodian for Maskwacis Mall, effective September 1, 2021.

A janitor’s work is very important when it comes to working in a clean environment. Despite all the risks we are currently encountering, such as COVID and the flu season, janitors play a huge role in protecting the health of building occupants. Especially at the Maskwacis Mall, our very own Custodian, Raven Littlechild, works to serve others and does her job in order to meet the needs of others.

Raven Littlechild is from the Ermineskin Cree Nation. She is the daughter of Dale Littlechild. Raven grew up learning her Cree language from her mother, she has a loving family who appreciate each other. What most don’t know is Raven grew up in poverty with her family, they are very close nit and endured hardships, but Raven does not dwell on those hardships. Because Raven and her family worked through the hardships, and things are much better and look much brighter for her and her family now.

Raven graduated from Wetaskiwin Composite High School; and now she is currently attending MacEwan University pursuing a bachelor’s program. Raven recently completed a Business Management Certificate from NAIT. She started a small online business, which she has plans for growth once she gets more education or when she gets her degree.

Raven is very athletic; she was a silver medalist Rugby Player at this year’s Alberta Indigenous Games. She is determined and works towards getting all her tasks done. She would like to mentor youth that struggled through hardships like she did.

Raven’s advice for the younger Youth:

“your background isn’t what makes you successful, it’s your mindset”.

NGCI and Maskwacis Mall welcome Raven Littlechild to the Team.
