NGCI Complete Acquisition for a Trusted Freshness Franchise

On March 31st, 2019 NGCI CEO signed the Trusted Freshness Franchise Agreement to officially purchase a Trusted Freshness Vertical Growers Franchise. NGCI’s newest business has been named “Neyaskweyahk Vertical Growers LP (NVG).”  NVG will be posting for two positions for “growers” for the business within the next couple of weeks.

NVG is located in Leduc, AB, and will be growing nutritious, fresh, safe and truly local salad greens and herbs for the Edmonton area. NVG and Trusted Freshness strive to provide the highest level of quality control to offer peace of mind for those looking for a fresh to market alternative available year round.

The Department of Indigenous Services Canada (DISC) Community Opportunities Readiness Projects (CORP) was instrumental in supporting NGCI purchase the business with a 30% capital grant. 10% qualifying equity was supported by NGCI business operations. The remaining costs will be financed by BMO over an 8 year period.

The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc.  was established by the Ermineskin Chief & Council on April 20, 2013.  A Band Council Resolution was passed to recruit a Board of Directors to govern and direct a President and CEO to manage NGCI.  NGCI Board of Directors work diligently with the President & CEO for business development, including startups, joint ventures and acquisitions for the benefit of Ermineskin Cree Nation.  100% shares of this company are owned by Ermineskin Cree Nation
