NGCI Welcomes a New Financial Clerk

MASKWACIS, AB – The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) and the Finance Department are pleased to welcome Mrs. Fown Roan as the new Finance Clerk to the head office of NGCI, effective October 13, 2021.

My name is Fown Roan. I am from the Piikani Nation of Treaty 7,  a mother to a 7-year-old boy and I am married to Clinton G. Roan. I spent most of my childhood/teen years with my maternal grandparents in the Secwepemc Territory (Cache Creek/Kamloops BC). I attended Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops B.C. where I completed 3 years in the BBA program. While attending TRU, I was an Indigenous Mentor where I assisted new students with a successful transition into Thompson Rivers University. In 2014, I put my schooling on-hold to raise my son and have been in the workforce since.

I would recommend to anyone attending school/university, is to take a Speech/Public speaking course. It is so helpful in everyday life.

As a hobby, I wish to one day write a series of children’s books. I do have a few plans that I hope to fulfill in the near future.

“I want to Thank NGCI for giving me this opportunity to work with the finance team.”

While NGCI has been managing the operations this past fiscal year due to Covid pandemic, the need to recruit a Finance Clerk was in high demand.  Fown brings great experience and ambition to work in our corporate business atmosphere.  We are very pleased with the new addition to the NGCI team.

On behalf of the NGCI Board of Directors and Staff we are pleased to have Mrs. Fown Roan join our team.
