Neyaskweyahk Wildland Firefighting hire Crew and Safety Manager

Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) today announced that Neyaskweyahk Wildland Firefighting (NWLF) subsidiary has contracted and retained the services of Wanda Baptiste as Crew and Safety Manager for the 2020 fire season.   Baptiste will commence services immediately and prepare the company and crews for the 2020 Wildfire Season. A NWLF spring BBQ is being planned to bring together Certified and Rookie Firefighters from Maskwacis and area in preparation for the 2020 season.   It is the understanding of the company that the UCP government did not bid base crews for 2020, opting instead to fill base crews with secondary contracts.…

CEO Activates Succession Plan

Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. today announced that Sam Minde, Chief Executive Officer and a President of the Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. 1st Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser

N-Wildland Firefighters: Kieran Minde, Leon Moonias, Byron Moonias and Irvin Brown Mark August 16th, 2019 as the date the Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies hosted their 1st Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser at the Montgomery Glen in Wetaskiwin Alberta. Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA) COR Certification is a health and safety review and was conducted in March and April, 2019 for Neyaskweyahk Wildland Firefighters. The program review utilized the AFPA Injury Reduction Standard Health and Safety Audit Protocol (2019).  Neyaskweyahk Wildland Firefighters are part of the Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies, Inc. They work to combat the wildfires in Indigenous territorial lands, and other locations in Alberta. Ground Breaking Event for 1MW Solar Array

NGCI Sign Lease Agreement with Heritage Family Services

The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) signed a 2-year lease agreement with Heritage Family Services (HFS) for a family placement on April 1st, 2019. NGCI purchased the Bear Paw Trading Post business, land and home on December 29th, 2017 and the home sat empty for over a year.   Heritage Family Services has a philosophy of keeping children in care close to their home community, the company has expanded to include facilities in both Rocky Mountain House, Ponoka and Wetaskiwin.  The company currently employs approximately 180 staff and cares for over 100 children on a daily basis.
